| Keeping Those New Years Weight Loss Resolutions |
|
Once again, the holiday season is upon us which means it won't be long before we celebrate the New Year. Now, maybe you've been meaning to lose some weight but have been putting it off for a while. Like many people, you might be thinking of making it your New Years resolution to finally get up and do something about it. Having a starting point to begin this journey of losing weight is a good idea, and what better place to start than the New Year.
The hard part for many people is not starting a weight loss program after New Years day, but staying with it long enough to see real results from it. Here are some things that you can do to make staying with it a lot easier.
First and foremost, for any endeavor to succeed you have to have a goal and a plan to make that goal a reality. Make your goal a definite goal, don't say "I want to lose some weight", instead say "I want to lose 20 pounds in six months". This way it is clear what you are setting out to do. Also, make sure your goals are realistic. Saying that you want to lose 20 pounds in 20 days is not a realistic goal. You didn't gain those 20 pounds in 20 days so don't expect to lose them in 20 days.
You should give yourself a small "mini-goal" to start off with so that you give yourself a chance to see that you can make it to your ultimate goal. Make it a point to try to lose 1 to 1
